On 6th March 2016, the Dorset Volks Fest Crew ran their first ever swap meet, in conjunction with the main festival in July and the event was a huge success.

The Swapmeet took place at Clapcotts Farm in Spetisbury, Dorset and invited traders to come and have a table in the barn and be part of the auto jumble.

Volkswagen enthusiasts looking for that essential missing part or full restoration project would not have been disappointed as the barn was full to capacity with traders of all kinds, including spray shops and giftware sellers as well as the café which gave visitors the chance to kick back and enjoy the finest Dorset pulled pork rolls with a cup of tea or coffee.

The Dorset Swapmeet exceeded all expectations with the car park reaching capacity within an hour or opening, leaving a que of Volkswagens up to a mile down the road whilst organisers found alternative parking for them.

Dorset Volks Fest and Swapmeet organiser Richie Rivers was overwhelmed with the popularity and support of the very first Dorset Swapmeet and very much looks forward to bringing this event back on an even bigger scale in 2017.
