Previously known as Avon Park, Shakespeare County Raceway lies deep at the heart of the sleepy Warwickshire countryside, approximately 10 minutes from the centre of Stratford upon Avon.
This most iconic drag strip began life as an airfield, constructed in 1940, in fact Long Marston Airfield, (adjacent to the strip) is still operational as a light aircraft base today!
‘Shakey’ plays host to many drag racing events throughout the year, from nostalgia gasser events to Cal Look VW Drag Days. The strip provides the perfect setting for drag racing, with Jerry Cookson and the dedicated track prep team keeping the racing surface in tip top condition, lining up competitors and brave RWYB entrants alike.
